My Team’s UX Process

01. DISCOVERY AND RESEARCH

The discovery and research phase is rooted in understanding the ‘why’ as well as the problem. This phase of the process can consistent of stakeholder interviews, customer interviews, data analysis, and competitive analysis.

02. Strategy

The strategy phase of the UX process is taking all of the research and finding in the first phase and synthesizing it into a holistic experience. This phase might consist of user flows, white-boarding session, workshops, and low-fidelity wireframes.

03. design

The design portion of the process is taking the strategy and visualizing it into a digestible format for stakeholder to understand and align on. In addition, it’s leaning into our design system to drive brand consistency and developing prototypes for validation.

04. VALIDATION

The validation phase is where all of the hard work comes together. This is the phase where we take all of our research, strategy, and designs and put them to the test with customers. We gain learnings around what our customers understand and what gaps we might have created for them.

05. ITERATION

Based on the learning from the validation phase, iteration might be necessary to ensure the experience is thought through and meets the wants and needs of the customer. This could be as simple as going back to the design phase, or re-strategizing the entire experience.

06. release

The release phase is where we work closely with product managers and engineers to develop and QA the work to perfection. Upon release, we closely track the performance of the project, gain insights, and begin discussions around ideating and iterating upon the experience.
